Second only to the Barracuda ATA, the ATA II 10.2 GB drive scored an overall 78.12, which is very slightly lower than the Barracuda ATAÆs score of 78.51. In spite of a cache buffer of 2 MB and disk rotational speed of 7,200 RPM, the ATA II lost out due to a comparative low drive index of 15153 in SiSoft Sandra. Other than this, the scores in Winbench were all top-of-the-chart. 4.63 MBps in Business Disk Winmark, 15.45 MBps in High End Disk Winmark, a scorching beginning transfer rate of 15.45 MBps, and 28.61 MBps in the end transfer rate, all make this drive a very impressive performer indeed. The only negative factor was the cost per MB, which worked out to Rs 0.96, the highest in this category. Though this may be justified by the specifications and the high performance, the drive cannot compare with the value offered by the Barracuda ATA.
